The changes and confusion are no match for our expert!

Your facility depends on revenue from nuclear medicine procedures which means your coders must possess a clear understanding of the latest codes and coding rules. Are you ready for 2012? The new year will bring substantial code changes, creating uncertainty and confusion in an already complex area of medicine. Once a year, MedLearn offers an opportunity to make sure you are ready for what lies ahead, thanks to the unique perspectives and expertise of Denise Merlino. Highlights:

  • What you need to know about the 2012 final rule for Medicare payment, covering hospital outpatient services, physician offices and IDTFs
  • A review of the Hospital Outpatient Prospective Payment System and physician fee schedule rates, as well as policy changes and the continued push toward more packaged services and bundled codes
  • The latest information on payments for radiopharmaceuticals, drugs and biologicals
  • Step by step through new 2012 CPT codes for lung scans, hepatobiliary scans (with and without intervention) and DaTscan
  • Clarification of recent SNM consensus opinions addressing some of the most common areas of confusion, such as coding for planar and SPECT imaging of parathyroids
  • Guidance and tips to help you avoid common mistakes, such as unbundling codes and billing for the incorrect number of radiopharmaceutical units
