More code changes, more bundlingmore to learn!
The massive 2011 changes to vascular interventional radiology codes marked a major turning point for hospitals and clinics and a starting point for coding and payment trends that have continued into 2012. Last year, we secured the services of two prominent IR coding experts, Jeff Majchrzak, BA, RT(R), CNMT, RCC, CIRCC, and Zeke Silva, MD, to explain what was changing and how providers would be affected. In this first session of a two-part series, they have returned by popular demand to present and interpret what is happening with vascular and nonvascular IR coding in 2012. Highlights:
- A review of new, revised and deleted vascular IR codes for 2012
- Key changes to nonvascular IR codes in 2012
- Explanations of completely new narrative guidelines for arteriovenous fistula (AVF) procedures
- Guidance with the application of bundled vascular and nonvascular codes
- New coding rules how they will affect coding for vena cava filter procedures, selective renal angiography and other IR procedures
