Accurate coding and full payment hinges on physician involvement

As many as 80% of the documentation currently submitted by radiologists would not support the assignment of diagnostic codes under ICD-10, according to our experts estimates. In bottom-line terms, this means 80% of claims might not be paid. A scary proposition? You bet it is. Fortunately, MedLearn Publishing is devoting a full webcast, third in a series, to this vitally important topic. We have targeted this session specifically to radiologists and all support staff who play a role in physician documentation. Highlights:
  • A brief discussion of why and how physician involvement is so indispensable to the success of your transition to ICD-10-CM
  • Documentation essentials detailed guidance with the information required for correct ICD-10-CM code assignments, as well as to support code selection in the event of a claim review or audit
  • Role-based training tools and techniques, including the use of quick-reference guides and mini-chart audits that can reveal lack of justification for code assignments
